“How beit Jesus suffered him not, but seith unto him, go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the lord hath done for thee”. Mark 5: 19 (KJV)
There are vaious ways good works are appreciated. Some people appreciated a good work by verbal expresssions of gratitude. Others appreciate good work by reciprocal acts of good work, yet others still appreciate good work by sharing with other people the good work done for them.
The man of Gadara from whom Jesus has cast out demons immediately demanded that Jesus should allow him to join the team on Disciples. That was going to be the best way known to him wherein he could appreciate the Master. He probably had tought the diciples were there to seve Jesus, and if he was among them he could as well pay his own “debt” by serving Jesus. He had been delivered free contrary to what obtained in his time, so he must find a way to pay back. So he would not admit into the fold of diciples a man whose mind-set was not correct from the begining. He therefore asked the man to go home to his friends and to go and announce to them the great things that the lord has done for him; and to show that it was mercy that delievered him. God has never demanded any pay from any man. Let the people hear your testimony.
Sir, has the lord done anything for you? have you shared it? Where did you share it. All that heaven demands of you is that you should tell people what the lord has done for you and let them know that God is able to do the same for them too. But you only conceal and hoard your story. How would God receive the glory. I wish you can repent and see the great things the lord has done for you and in your life and then begin to announce it to all people.
