Text: Joel 2:22 – 27
Song: My God has done so much for me
He has taken away my sorrow/ tears/ pains
O glory Halleluyah!
He’s coming to take me home
The Lord promised His people His graciousness from the beginning of this year and He has not reneged from this promise, He is unchangeable.
This is the month of October and God has been gracious again to send His word to His people. He has declared this month as the month of: Total Independence and Restoration. God is willing to succor His people and He waits to be gracious to them.
Prophet Joel summons the beasts of the field (v.22) and the sons of Zion (v.23) to joy and exultation at the mighty acts of the Lord. The soil had suffered from the drought, the swarms of locusts ravaged the land; the beasts groaned on account of the destruction of all the plants and vegetation, the men sighed over the unparalleled calamities yet the prophet says, ‘Do not fear, but exult and rejoice always”.
The trouble which you seem to be seeing, the calamities and the conspiracies of hell which appear to be hanging over your life, He, Jesus will take all away. He will also set you at liberty. But you must see this as being actual.
You need to open up your eyes of faith. He has decided to roll away the pains of barrenness, the aloneness, loneliness, disappointments and isolation. The Master said, He has come to roll away all these and kick open the door of restoration and
independence. But if you want to dwell on these negatives and enjoy men’s sympathy through your doubts, imaginations of wickedness and sinfulness. God will allow you. Charles Spurgeon said, ‘You cannot have back your times, but there is a strange and wonderful way in which God can give back to you the wasted blessings, the unripened fruits of years over which you mourned..it is a pity that they should have been locust-eaten by your folly and negligence, but if they have been so be not hopeless concerning them’’ He did it for Job. He will do it for you; only by bold and confident. He has opened the door of restoration. No man shall be able to close again. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!
