“Remember
therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and
do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly,
and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except
thou repent.” Rev 2:5 (KJV)

Every life
walk with God has a beginning. There is always
a definite point at which a man begins to
walk with God. As he continues the walk with
God, there is a height which he would attain.
Backsliding is the process in which a man
slides back from that point where heaven has
accepted him. |
| |
Hence brethren,
if you would look back into your life and
your walk with God, you will see the fervency
with which you followed the Lord. You would
see the sweetness of the relationship between
you and the other brethren as it existed in
the beginning. At the close of every meeting,
the fellowship meetings that followed would
be so sweet that people are unable to part.
But now, immediately after the meeting everyone
goes his own. Everybody takes to his path.
People that are suppose to be on duty in God’s
presence go everywhere anyhow, in search of
food or ceremonies. Everybody is more interested
about himself and his family. The heart of
God seems to be troubled and he thus cries
out in desperation. “Remember from where
you fell”. Friend, where is your original
zeal? Where is your great appetite and enthusiasm
for God. You had always longed for God’s
presence and for the fellowship of the brethren,
what has happened to that now? |
| |
Hear the master’s
warning, “remember the place from which
you fell and return, otherwise I’ll
come and remove your candlestick” What
a useless life you would be living if your
candlestick is removed? |
